Adventure - New Zealand’s Great Walk | Paparoa Track

Adventure | Tréology family hike New Zealand’s Great Walk, the Paparoa Track | Connecting to nature

Luxuriant coastal forest, limestone cliffs and canyons, caves and underground streams, and an absolutely spectacular coastline, are all packed into one national park. The bizarre ‘pancake-stack’ coastal formations attract visitors to the area.

Tréology co-founders Andrew and Melany-Jayne and their extended family recently hiked the Paparoa track during their son’s school holiday. A truly fantastic experience. Not only because of the breathtaking scenery, but to experience this multi-day hike as an extended family of eight in total, from Grandparent to youngest grandchild, many happy memories were made. The family love connecting to nature and sharing their love of the country with others. We share some of their images of this special family experience.

The track started at Blackball, and finished at Punakaiki - an area close to Truman’s Beach - the inspiration behind the design of the Ebb & Flow credenza.

The Ebb & Flow credenza was inspired by our observations of an ocean worn cliff face on the wild West Coast of New Zealand. Our search for design inspiration took us on an adventure to the Truman Track - a walk through unspoiled subtropical forest where ancient native trees tower above thickets of vine and palms.
